Sunshine Foundation’s 2008 Chapter Seminar!


Members of Sunshine Foundation’s 12 all volunteer chapters were invited to attend Sunshine Foundation’s Annual Chapter Seminar. This year, the Seminar was held in Orlando, FL . The Seminar serves as a means to bring together volunteers from each chapter to exchange ideas and learn new ways to help answer dreams for Sunshine Foundation’s special children. Sunshine wishes to thank everyone who attended. Thank you also for everything you do to make dreams come true!

Zachary Visits Sunshine Foundation’s Dream Village!
 

Zachary and his family recently visited
Sunshine Foundation’s Dream Village in
Davenport, FL. Zachary is 13 years old and
has Cerebral Palsy. It was his Dream to visit
the Orlando Attractions. Zachary and his
family traveled from Winston-Salem, NC to
Orlando, FL for Zachary’s dream come true
trip! Zachary’s mom told Sunshine Foundation,
“This trip has improved our mental health
overall, knowing people care enough to do all this
for you. It's such a wonderful feeling."

Sunshine Foundation’s Dream Village Holiday Celebration!
 

Sunshine Foundation held its 7th Annual Dream Village Holiday Celebration on December 2, 2008. Guests enjoyed live music, food
and visits from Mr. and Mrs. Claus! The cottages were decorated for the holidays and guests voted on their favorites!
 

Santa stopped by the Dream Village to
visit with the children!

Cemex decorated the Elves Cottage in a
Gingerbread theme and won first place!

Hogs Giving Event!
 

Sunshine Foundation Thanks
Dave Coldwell!
 

Ridge Harley Davidson of Lake Wales held their
annual Hogs-Giving event on Saturday,
November 23, 2008.  This event benefits multiple
charities every year. Robert Shipe, Owner of
Elite Travel N Cruise and Chairman of the
Sunshine Foundation's Awareness
Committee, was on hand to enjoy the
festivities and accept donations for the
Sunshine Foundation.
 

Sunshine Foundation would like to thank one of our amazing volunteers, Dave Coldwell for helping to cut down a tree from the Dream Village. The tree was struck by lightning and had to be removed. Dave both cut the tree down and removed it from the Village. Thank you for helping to keep the Dream Village a
beautiful place for our families to visit!

Sunshine Remembers Billy Briggs!
 

Sunshine Foundation is so sad to tell you that Billy Briggs,
a loyal friend and supporter of Sunshine Foundation’s
Mercer County Chapter has passed away. Billy was
56 years old and passed away after a long battle with
colon and liver cancer. He was the owner of Trenton, NJ’s
Tir na nOg Pub. Billy generously helped raised thousands
 of dollars for Sunshine Foundation’s special children.
A tree was planted in his memory at
Sunshine Foundation’s Dream Village
in Davenport, FL.

Kylie’s Teddy Bears Spread Joy!

Sunshine Foundation thanks Kylie for generously
donating these beautiful hand made teddy bears.
These great bears will be used to bring smiles to
many children especially during this holiday
season. Kylie and her friends created the bears
after taking a sewing class in school. Thank you
for using your talent to bring so much happiness into
the lives of the children we serve!

Call Santa and Help Sunshine Foundation!

Sunshine Foundation is participating in a special Holiday Fundraiser. You can schedule a call from Santa to the special children in your life and help Sunshine Foundation at the same time.  For $1.99 you can schedule a call to anyone from Santa Claus.  You pick the date and time of the call. The conversation between Santa and the child is recorded and sent back to the originator as an audio file to be saved as a great memory. Amber is 15 and has
Cerebral Palsy. She is from
Glenolden, PA. Amber wants
 to be a nurse when
she grows up.

Channing is 7 years old and
has Down Syndrome. She is
from Whiteville, NC and
loves to listen to music
and dance!

Jordan is 14 years old and
has Severe Autism. He is
from Meadville, PA.
Jordan likes to golf and
go bowling!


Atlantic City Dreamlift - 12/02/2008!
 

Everyone was warmly welcomed at the Atlantic City International Airport at 6:00 am and
were treated to morning refreshments, compliments of Team ACY!

Midlantic Jet Aviation graciously opened the hangar and TSA quickly screened for an early departure!
 

8:00 am - Time to board!
Atlantic City Airport Firefighters, NJ State Police, and United States Secret Service assisted the children around the airport and onto the aircraft!

The children were excited to be greeted by Universal Studios team members and
park characters at 10:30 am!
 

Children from Cape May County Special Services and Hamilton Township Schools were thrilled to receive a dream come true trip to Universal Studios!

Back In The Day Club Sunshine Dance Party!
 

Sunshine Foundation thanks DJ Anthony Bradley and La Villa Restaurant for sponsoring a Back in the Day Dance Party on November 26, 2008. The Party was held at La Villa Restaurant in Monroe Township, NJ. With a $10 donation to Sunshine Foundation, guests enjoyed a night of music from the 70’s and 80’s.

Corvette Enthusiasts Community Foundation Makes Dreams Come True!
 

Sunshine Foundation thanks the Corvette Enthusiasts Community
Foundation and the Corvette Club of Delaware Valley for their
generous donation of $4,000. Every year the club auctions a Corvette
to benefit numerous charities. Sunshine Foundation is so lucky to be
one of these selected charities. The Corvette Enthusiasts Foundation
and the Corvette Club of Delaware Valley are long time friends and
supporters of Sunshine Foundation and we appreciate everything they
do to help us continue to answer dreams for seriously ill, physically
challenged and abused children. Thank you for all that you do for
Sunshine Foundation!

Men’s Club Spaghetti Dinner!
 


Polk County H.O.G.’s present a check for $11,180.57 to
benefit Sunshine Foundation. The funds were raised from
the  Polk County H.O.G.S. Poker Run in October.
